Sheffield Roads Portal ::
After recently starting back working for Sheffield City
Council and also receiving an old plan of a motorway
proposal for Sheffield City Centre, I felt compelled to pull
together some history of Sheffield's road network. I
hope to search out a few old plans, maybe the odd picture
and hopefully a few comments from the people that built the
roads...
Scope ::
Sheffield covers a very large area geographically and this site aims to
cover all the major road schemes in the Sheffield area,
along with a few more significant schemes in nearby towns.
I will be dipping into old plan chests and searching the
local achieves, slowly building this site into a
comprehensive reference of road building in the area.
